Easy to Read uses the rectified spelling because it makes learning to read easier. For example, you will read "ile" rather than "île", or "millepattes" rather than "mille-pattes".

This spelling is recommended by the Conseil supérieur de la langue française (Superior Council of the French Language), approved by the Académie française (French Academy), and adopted by the Office québécois de la langue française (Quebec Office of the French Language).
